Spicules – Suberites ficus

Spicules: Megascleres are tylostyles of 2 sizes, 320-(380)-420 x 6µm and 100-(158)-225 x 2.5 µm. Microscleres are microrhabds, ie. centrotylote microstrongyles (25-(48)-70 µm), which need careful searching of the ectosome to be seen, among the tips of the palisade spicules (i.e. right at the surface).
